Welcome to du Fermier, a wonderful French farmhouse style kitchen created by chef Annie Smithers.

Located in the heart of Trentham, one of the gems of the cool country, du Fermier takes its inspiration from classic French farmhouse cooking. Each weekend Annie lovingly creates a menu that features things that are ready in the garden and some of the finest meats and/or poultry from the surrounding region.It is comfortable honest food for sharing with friends.

We are really looking forward to July. It's a month that provides us with several excuses to put on special dinners.

The first, BASTILLE DAY, or as the French like to say, ‘la fete nationale’. Friday 14th July is already booked out, but if you would like to spend Saturday 15th July with us for dinner we would be delighted. 4 fabulous French courses with matched wines, $135 per person. 6.30 for a 7 o’clock start. The second occasion we get to celebrate and pull all stops out for in July is, ‘CHRISTMAS IN JULY’. So if you would like to be spoilt with one of my favorite renditions of Christmas, come and join us on Saturday 29th July. 4 courses with matched wine, $135 per person, 6.30 for 7 o’clock start.
