Our kitchen garden is on an acre block in Malmsbury. It is loosely based on the principles of one man, one acre. The garden should be able to produce enough fruit and vegetables to augment 200 meals a week. The work in the garden is done by Annie. There is endless watering, weeding and picking to be done which is a true labour of love. And from this one-acre plot, we coax and cajole tiny seeds into magnificent produce that features every week on the menu at du Fermier
The garden supplies du Fermier with up to 90% of it's produce at specific times of the year as well as fruit for many of Annie’s beautiful seasonal jams and preserves.
